   Avast Antivirus..

   I also use Avast. My son was in the computer business years ago, and said that most hackers target *big name* virus protection software, because they like the recognition of getting past Norton or MacAfee. Meanwhile, the *little guys* are coming up with alternative stuff that is like The Little Engine That Could. I am certainly not an expert, but have run smaller-developer protection of various kinds of my machines for years – and ALL intrusions have been successfully blocked. They caught Conficker before it was big news.
