Compare Antivirus Software

Do the paid yearly antivirus programs come with everything you need to protect your computer?
Or do you have to pay additional fees for other programs?

The top rated commercial anti-virus programs are going to be superior to the free ones. I am not saying that there are not good free ones or that you should not use one if you cannot afford a commercial anti-virus program because you should use one no matter. There are just limitations to the free versions. For example, AVG free has no rootkit protection, only their paid version does.

If you want a full featured security program you would need to get what is called a security suite which includes anti-virus, firewall, and often anti-spyware. If you choose to use an anti-virus program instead of a security suite then you should supplement it with a firewall, and anti-spyware programs.
