or is the pre-loaded antivirus program that your computer came with when you bought it enough? I run Windows XP home edition on an HP Pavilion 1010y (Pentium 4/ 3.06 ghz; 512mb ram). Also, what is the “catch” with free antivirus programs, and where do I find them?

I Purchased Norton Antivirus 2007 & when i installed it into my XP so it works very slowly & poorly Pickup performance when i start my pc.
Now tell me anyone what i will do to increase my pcs performance
